Who Am I?
Hi everyone, my name is Keelin and I am a 24-year-old journalism graduate from Wicklow, Ireland.
For the last two years I have worked with the Irish Sun newspaper, the largest selling tabloid in the country and have gained some excellent experience here. Although I loved my job and was really settling into life in the the fast-paced media, I felt like I was not gaining knowledge outside the office.
So after plucking up th courage, I quit my job, gave up my apartment in Dublin and booked a one way ticket to Australia!
Why Start a Blog?
To keep my typing fingers busy and keep in touch with journalism, I have started a blog to document my travels. I’m using this blog to brush up on all my media skills, including video editing, photography and writing.
I plan to post as often as I can, on content people genuinely want to read. I will fill this blog with tips, tricks and advice on life abroad, the good, the bad and the ugly!
Where Did I Get the Name?
Picking the name of the blog was the toughest part of this whole process! Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge sun worshipper and love the sunshine more than anything; I even have a sun tattoo on my wrist! I also love writing and keep journals. So after a lot of thought and consideration, Sun Scribes was born!
